How can literature be incorporated into physical art? This first inquiry led me to establish the use of book pages as a key element in all of my SI pieces. Then as my SI pieces began to shift away from sculpture and into function my inquiry became: Is there a connection between literature and wearable art? However,  through continued investigation of the prominent metaphorical findings in many Si pieces, and the shift towards jewelry as a primary genre of wearable art my inquiry altered into: How can I use metaphors and symbols to connect literature and jewelry?
