Tea Set

This tea set project was inspired both by clay artisits and literay works. Specifically for my project I was inspired by the literary series An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, and the artist inspiration being Carol Long.

Tea Pot: Deconstructed Fragment

This tea pot was formed though the use of plaster molds and also hand building of elements like the gems on the sides, the feet, the top and handle. The cups were formed through handbuilding only and use of the slab roller.

Artist Inspiration

My artisit inspiration was Carol Long. Carol Long makes many organic shaped pieces with multiple textures on each. It is also said she likes to incorperate an Alice in Wonderland decadence into her work. https://www.carollongpottery.com/

Literary Inspiration

The literary piece I had chose was the Ember in the Ashes 4 book series by Sabaa Tahir. Within the book there is talk of a jewel armband and that is what I wanted to incorperate into my art. I wnated my teapot to be that armband that has now become broken and unfixable.
